While Yewtree was under way, a separate nationwide investigation into allegations of "non–recent" child sexual abuse was instigated, known as Operation Hydrant. The Metropolitan Police's activities under Hydrant were named Operation Winter Key. Yewtree was absorbed into Winter Key in 2015.
As of November 2021, Winter Key and Hydrant are still ongoing.
